Born in Sabadell (Barcelona), he admits to be passionately fond of the fauna and of nature itself since his early childhood, perhaps due to the positive influence of his maternal grandfather, who was a qualified naturalist.
In the early seventies he started out in photography, preferring to capture images of nature. In 1978, his liking for natural habitats drove him to scuba dive, which he felt in love with and opened up a new, tempting horizon to develop his photographic work.
For a while, his work on sub-aquatic photography focused on capturing images for audiovisual programs as well as to participate in contests in which he was awarded in some occasions - Granollers (Spain, 1987), Antibes (France, 1993/1994), Munich (Germany, 1994), FCDA Barcelona (Spain 1995).
Nonetheless, he already felt at that time the need for a more bounding compromise by spreading nature through his pictures, in its essence and without enhancements, giving his work a fresher touch and ignoring the aesthetic standards that prevailed in contests back then.
Although he never forgot his beloved Mediterranean sea, a place for which he feels a special predilection, his restlessness and his never-ending search for unique and exceptional creatures took him to many, faraway places.
“I feel very fortunate to have been able to visit truly special places both terrestrial and under water, coming across a large variety of species which very often were endangered and survivors of increasingly impoverished seas’’.
His pictures have been published both in national and international publishings (AquaVentura, Terre Sauvage, Oceàns, Animan, Duiker, Dive, Skin Diver, Diving a Fondo, UWF, Asian Diver, Natura, etc.) and used by many advertising agencies or calendar editorials.
He has taken part in several conferences about sea life as well as exhibitions, both single and collective - Mundo submarino (Barcelona 1994), Aquàrium (Barcelona 1997), Mar Viva (Sabadell 1998), Por 4 mares (Barberà del Vallès 2000) (Sant Quirze del Vallès 2001), El acuario de Alá (Girona 2002), Luz en el agua (Sabadell 2008), Seafaces (Sabadell 2010), Retales de mar (Sabadell 2012).
